Modernist Logos
An example of mid-century-modernist-logos, the “as” mark was created for Arnold Shaw & Associates in 1961. It was included in Trademarks USA — a national retrospective of American Trademarks from 1945-1964. Trademarks USA was sponsored by the Society of Typographic Arts (SOTA). An exhibition was held in Chicago in 1964 and a portfolio book was published in 1968.

The Kiplinger logo was created for the Kiplinger Book Club in 1960. It was in use well into the late 20th Century. The company exists today as Kiplinger Personal Finance.
Thermo Tray by Cornwall was a hot electric tray used to keep food warm, popular in the 1950s and 1960s. The logo was created in 1958.
The TIME International Advertiser Promotion was created for Time Inc. to promote advertising for TIME, INC worldwide, in 1961.
